Nintendo has revealed that this week’s Virtual Console release in Europe will be Metroid II: Return of Samus, the 1989 monochrome follow-up to the classic NES game that sees you taking out every remaining Metroid as you explore their home world of SR388. To be honest, this is perhaps my least favorite entry in the series – like it’s predecessor, the gameplay simply hasn’t aged well, especially when compared to the the masterpiece that followed. Still, it’s a classic Game Boy game and you can get it for £3.60/€4.00 this Thursday.
