2DS View #36: Thanks For Playing!

Well, with 3DS View’s blog section closed down it looks like this incarnation of 2DS View is moving on, riding off into the sunset much like the DS itself. 2DS View will live on after this in a new format on my personal site at espiox.net (or just follow me on Twitter to find out when it goes live) likely with a focus on editorial content rather than news. It’s been fun writing these over the past few months; if anyone’s actually been reading along, thank you! Here’s one more for the road.
2DS View #35: We’re Back Already?
Wow, that month went fast. Hope you all had a great Christmas and/or New Year!
I’ll be completely honest: I did not expect this feature to run into 2012. Right up until that last post, I figured news would dry up after Christmas and I’d need to make some drastic changes to keep 2DS View going. Then they announced Pokémon + Nobunaga’s Ambition.
2DS View #34: A Very Pokémon & Nobunaga’s Ambition 2D Christmas

Only 7 more sleeps until Christmas! This week features a variety of Christmas goodies, including new DS game announcements, festive-themed treats, and even some more free DLC.
Unfortunately, due to Christmas, New Years and MAGFest, 2DS View will be going on hiatus for a few weeks. Have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year, and thank you for reading 2DS View this year. See you again in 2012!
Mighty Switch Force Flips onto eShop Next Week! [UPDATE #3]
Just announced at a Nintendo eShop event, WayForward’s Mighty Switch Force is out on December 22 in Europe [and the US and Australia]! In an odd reversal of release order from previous WayForward games, the Mega Man X-esque puzzle-platformer isn’t due to hit the North American eShop until Q1 2012. Destructoid has a great preview of the game, plus a sample track (entitled “Yummy”) from the game’s soundtrack, composed by Jake “virt” Kaufman and releasing for free alongside the game. While you listen to that, be sure to take a look at the new screenshots in our gallery after the break.
UPDATE 3 (17/12): WayForward has tweeted that the Dec 22nd date applies to Europe, Australia, New Zealand, AND North America, and that the game will sell for $5.99/€6!
PSA: Ambassador GBA Games Available Now
The 10 Game Boy Advance games are now available to 3DS early adopters in North America, Europe, Japan and Australia. The process is the same as the NES games (Settings -> Titles You’ve Downloaded -> Redownload each game), but the new Sleep Mode Download feature means you can just queue them all up at once.
